Coastal Museum Tour
The Tillimook airport houses one of the few remaining WWII blimb hangers. This amazing building makes even their DC-3 look tiny. We’ll fly out here in the morning, tour the museum and grab lunch at the Air Base Cafe before departing to McMinnville. We’ll hop a shuttle across the street to challenge your concept of size once again with the Spruce Goose at the Evergreen air museum. If you haven’t had enough, we can stop at the WAAAM at Hood River on the way back.
Boeing Field KBFI is just a short flight away. This can be a great opportunity to practice Class B airspace operations, visit the big city, or just grab lunch and tour the museum of flight.
Off the beaten path
There are some great little airstrips nearby that will help hone your short and/or soft field ability. Join us on a tour of some of our favorites. No matter what type of plane you fly there is an appropriate challenge waiting just around the corner.
Your plane or ours, we’d be happy to refresh your memory on how fun flying can be.
